The Centre is a social and environmental justice organisation that aims to deepen democracy in Australia by engaging communities and encouraging debate. We work in a global context towards the goal of communities controling of their destinies by addressing the power imbalances in society. We try to raise new ideas and approaches to show that there are more democratic solutions that we can build a just society on.
By starting this blog we intend to achieve the following aims:
- Engage the public in debate around issues almost in real time as they emerge.
- Inform the public about our goings on and events as they come up. We also hope to demystify our day-to-day activities and provide you with opportunities to get involved.
- Provide an opportunity for the public to contribute to debate through guest contributers.
- Provide a highly democratised media outlet for the Centre and the public.
